Upgrade Wood Frame 7 Days To Die

How To Upgrade Wood Frames in 7 Days to Die

Surviving the zombie-infested landscape of 7 Days to Die (7D2D) requires a stronghold capable of withstanding the onslaught of the undead. Fortunately, 7D2D has a crafting system for making the items needed for survival.

Wood Frames are one of the most basic items. They are used to fortify the safe haven. Wood Frames are very versatile. They can be upgraded to create more durable defense blocks, including Concrete and Steel Blocks.

In this guide, we’ll cover the entire upgrade path for Wood Frames.

How to Make Wood Frames in 7 Days to Die

Wood Frames are the most basic building material in 7 Days to Die. They are easy to craft, but not very durable – a few zombie strikes are all it takes to destroy one.

Wood Frames come in many shapes, but all share the same stats. The default frame is a solid cube. You can transform it into other shapes by taking the frame in your hands and holding R. This opens the Shapes Menu, where you can search for alternative shapes.

Wood Frames placed down can be picked up again by pressing E. This makes them very useful for building temporary structures such as stairs, ramps, platforms, and scaffolding.

Wood Frames cost 2 Wood to craft. You can have up to 500 Wood Frames in a single stack in your inventory. They have the following stats:

  • 50 hit points
  • 40 horizontal support
  • 5 mass
  • 0 light opacity

There are two ways to craft Wood Frames in 7 Days to Die:

  1. Click on the ingredients in the inventory and select Recipes, then Wood Frames, then click Craft.
  2. Search for “Wood Frames” in your crafting window search bar, then click Craft.

How Upgrading Works

Upgrading a building block in 7D2D improves its key statistics, including hit points (HP), horizontal support, and mass. To reach the final upgrade level for a block, complete every preceding upgrade in sequence.

Upgrading a block requires an upgrade tool and upgrade materials. Each upgrade requires different building materials. Acquire upgrade materials through looting, trading, mining, scavenging, and crafting. There are four upgrade tools:

  • Stone Axe
  • Taza’s Stone Axe
  • Claw Hammer
  • Nailgun

Each tool can be used to upgrade Wood Frames. The Stone Axe is the slowest. The Nailgun is the fastest.
